Who We Are

1990's

THE PIONEER ERA

Long before GPS, automated flight controllers, or the word 'drone' as we know it even existed, I was flying radio-controlled aircraft.

In the mid-90s, years before electric motors and battery technology were viable for model aircraft, I attempted to build a custom, engine-powered single-rotor RC helicopter capable of carrying a full size camera. At the time, only one other company in the world had achieved this.

It was an era of raw, mechanical aviation where every flight was a battle with physics and vibration.

THE HEAVY LIFT CAPTURES

As early multi-rotor technology emerged, I operated a self-built Skyjib 8 carrying a Canon 5D.

I provided aerial cinematography for the BBC and various TV ads and corporate films. But the technology was cumbersome, and the creative joy of flight was missing.

Realising the industry was waiting on a revolution in miniature camera sensors, I stepped back from commercial drone work, keeping my hands on the RC sticks as a hobbyist while waiting for the tech to catch up to the vision.

THE FPV REVOLUTION

The wait paid off. The miniaturisation of high-definition sensors brought me back with a vengeance. While I rely on modern cinematic platforms to deliver phenomenal off-the-shelf image quality for classic aerial shots, I knew that capturing truly impossible angles required FPV. Mastering it became an obsession—driven by the need to completely unlock a director's creative imagination.

Today, modern FPV platforms have evolved to deliver incredible imaging alongside full-agility performance. Crucially, this technology also allows me to return to my builder roots. When a brief demands a highly bespoke solution, I engineer custom aircraft optimised for specific environments, utilising the DJI O4 Pro system.

Whether deploying a sub-100g BetaFPV Pavo Pico for tight indoor gaps, or an AOS 5.5 for high-speed pursuit, our specialised FPV fleet pushes the physical boundaries of where a camera can go. Alongside this bespoke engineering, we continue to deliver uncompromising cinematic aerials for high-end broadcast and factual productions, including ongoing work for the BBC.
